Safety

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the Recon’s standard Hill Descent Control allows you to creep down safely. The Vistiq doesn’t offer Hill Descent Control.

The Jeep Recon’s 360-degree camera is equipped with washers for its front and rear cameras, ensuring crystal-clear visibility in any weather condition. Conversely, the Cadillac Vistiq only offers a rear camera washer, which may not provide the same level of all-weather performance.

Both the Recon and the Vistiq have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

Warranty

There are over 4 times as many Jeep dealers as there are Cadillac dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Recon’s warranty.

Reliability

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2025 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Jeep vehicles are better in initial quality than Cadillac vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Jeep above average in initial quality. With 14 more problems per 100 vehicles, Cadillac is rated below average.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ March 2025 Auto Issue reports that Jeep vehicles are more reliable than Cadillac vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Jeep 2 places higher in reliability than Cadillac.

13.5 inches

Rear Rotors

13.6 inches

Tires and Wheels

The Recon has a standard full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare isn’t available on the Vistiq; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

Suspension and Handling

For greater off-road capability the Recon has a 1.9 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Vistiq (9.1 vs. 7.2 inches), allowing the Recon to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

Chassis

The Jeep Recon may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 200 pounds less than the Cadillac Vistiq.

The Recon is 1 foot shorter than the Vistiq, making the Recon easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

Passenger Space

The Recon has 1.4 inches more front headroom and 1.6 inches more rear headroom than the Vistiq.

Cargo Capacity

The Recon has a much larger cargo volume than the Vistiq with its rear seat up (30.3 vs. 15.2 cubic feet).

A standard locking center console keeps your small valuables safer in the Recon. The Vistiq doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

Ergonomics

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Recon to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Vistiq doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.
