Safety

The Jeep Recon’s 360-degree camera has integrated front and rear camera washers, ensuring clear, all-weather visibility without the need for manual cleaning. In contrast, the Genesis Electrified GV70 lacks camera washers, requiring you to manually clean the cameras for optimal performance.

Both the Recon and the Electrified GV70 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

The Jeep Recon weighs 801 to 1030 pounds more than the Genesis Electrified GV70. The NHTSA advises that heavier vehicles are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

Warranty

There are almost 11 times as many Jeep dealers as there are Genesis dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Recon’s warranty.

Engine

The Recon’s electric motors produces 167 more horsepower (650 vs. 483) and 104 lbs.-ft. more torque (620 vs. 516) than the Electrified GV70’s electric motors.

Tires and Wheels

For better traction, the Recon has larger tires than the Electrified GV70 (265/70R18 vs. 235/55R19).

The Recon has a standard full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare isn’t available on the Electrified GV70; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

Suspension and Handling

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Recon is 1.3 inches wider in the front and .9 inches wider in the rear than on the Electrified GV70.

For greater off-road capability the Recon has a 2.2 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Electrified GV70 (9.1 vs. 6.9 inches), allowing the Recon to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

Passenger Space

The Recon has 8.5 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Electrified GV70 (111.3 vs. 102.8).

The Recon has 3.7 inches more front headroom, .1 inches more front legroom, 2.3 inches more rear headroom, 1.9 inches more rear legroom, 1.5 inches more rear hip room and .7 inches more rear shoulder room than the Electrified GV70.

Cargo Capacity

The Recon has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Electrified GV70 with its rear seat up (30.3 vs. 28.7 cubic feet). The Recon has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Electrified GV70 with its rear seat folded (65.9 vs. 56.5 cubic feet).

Towing

Standard Trailer Sway Control on the Recon uses the Electronic Stability Control sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The Electrified GV70 doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

Ergonomics

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Recon to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Electrified GV70 doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

The Recon has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel is only available on the Electrified GV70 Advanced/Prestige.
