For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Jeep Gladiator are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The INEOS Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the Gladiator are reminded to check the back seat if they opened the rear door before starting out. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

The Gladiator’s optional blind spot warning system uses sensors to alert the driver to objects in the vehicle’s blind spots where the side view mirrors don’t reveal them. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer a system to reveal objects in the driver’s blind spots.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the Gladiator’s optional Rear Cross Path Detection uses sensors in the rear to alert the driver to vehicles approaching from the side, helping the driver avoid collisions. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer a rear cross-path warning system.

Both the Gladiator and the Grenadier Quartermaster have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, plastic fuel tanks, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, rearview cameras, available crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights and rear parking sensors.

Jeep pays for scheduled maintenance on the Gladiator for 2 years and unlimited miles. Jeep will pay for oil changes, tire rotations, air filter replacements, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance (up to 2 visits). INEOS doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the Grenadier Quartermaster.

There are almost 80 times as many Jeep dealers as there are INEOS dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Gladiator’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates rated the Gladiator first among midsize pickups in their 2025 Initial Quality Study. The Grenadier Quartermaster isn’t in the top three in its category.

The Gladiator’s 3.6 DOHC V6 produces 3 more horsepower (285 vs. 282) than the Grenadier Quartermaster’s 3.0 turbo 6-cylinder.

As tested in Car and Driver the Jeep Gladiator is faster than the INEOS Grenadier Quartermaster:

On the EPA test cycle the Gladiator gets better fuel mileage than the Grenadier Quartermaster (17 city/22 hwy vs. 14 city/14 hwy).

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Jeep Gladiator uses regular unleaded gasoline. The Grenadier Quartermaster requires premium, which can cost on average about 84.9 cents more per gallon.

The Gladiator has a tether attaching its gas cap to prevent its loss. The Grenadier Quartermaster’s gas cap isn’t tethered, so it can be left at a gas station if the driver forgets to screw the cap back in.

For better stopping power the Gladiator’s brake rotors are larger than those on the Grenadier Quartermaster:

The Gladiator’s standard front and rear disc brakes are vented to help dissipate heat for shorter stops with less fading. The rear discs on the Grenadier Quartermaster are solid, not vented.

The Gladiator has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

The Gladiator Rubicon has an active front sway bar, which helps keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnects at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Gladiator’s wheelbase is 10.3 inches longer than on the Grenadier Quartermaster (137.3 inches vs. 127 inches).

The Gladiator handles at .75 G’s, while the Grenadier Quartermaster pulls only .59 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

For better maneuverability, the Gladiator 4x4’s turning circle is 3.1 feet tighter than the Grenadier Quartermaster’s (44.5 feet vs. 47.6 feet). The Gladiator 4x4 Rubicon/Mojave’s turning circle is 2.9 feet tighter than the Grenadier Quartermaster’s (44.7 feet vs. 47.6 feet).

For greater off-road capability the Gladiator Mojave has a 1.2 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Grenadier Quartermaster (11.6 vs. 10.4 inches), allowing the Gladiator to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Jeep Gladiator may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 750 to 1150 pounds less than the INEOS Grenadier Quartermaster.

The Gladiator 4x4 is 6.4 inches shorter in height than the Grenadier Quartermaster, making the Gladiator much easier to wash and garage and drive (lower center of gravity).

As tested by Car and Driver, the interior of the Gladiator is quieter than the Grenadier Quartermaster:

The Gladiator has 12.9 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Grenadier Quartermaster (102.9 vs. 90).

The Gladiator has 1.4 inches more front headroom, 1.9 inches more front legroom, 1.4 inches more rear headroom and 7.9 inches more rear legroom than the Grenadier Quartermaster.

The Grenadier Quartermaster’s spare tire is stored in the cargo area, where it diminishes the useable cargo capacity and interferes with loading and unloading. The Gladiator’s spare is out of the way underneath.

A low lift-over bed design makes loading and unloading the Gladiator easier. The Gladiator’s bed lift-over height is 29.7 inches, while the Grenadier Quartermaster’s liftover is 35.6 inches.

The Gladiator has bed indentations that accommodate 2x4’s for two-tiered loading to help accommodate diverse loads; the Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer two-tiered loading. The Gladiator also has indentations to separate the cargo box into three different sections length-wise.

A maintenance reminder system is standard on the Gladiator to save the owner time and money by calculating maintenance intervals for oil changes, based on actual driving conditions. This takes the guesswork out of keeping your vehicle in top condition and helps it last longer. INEOS doesn’t offer a maintenance reminder on the Grenadier Quartermaster.

The Gladiator offers a remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

The engine computer on the Gladiator automatically engages the starter until the car starts with one twist of the key and disables the starter while the engine is running. The Grenadier Quartermaster’s starter can be accidentally engaged while the engine is running, making a grinding noise and possibly damaging the starter and ring gear.

The Gladiator’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The Grenadier Quartermaster does not have an oil pressure gauge.

The Gladiator’s standard power windows have a locking feature to keep children in the rear seat from operating them, but the driver can still raise and lower all of them with the lock engaged. INEOS does not offer a locking feature on the Grenadier Quartermaster’s standard power windows.

The Push Button Start standard on the Gladiator allows you to start the engine without removing the key from the pocket or purse. The INEOS Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer an advanced key system. The Gladiator’s optional Passive Entry also allows you to unlock the doors from either front outside door handle.

The Gladiator’s speed-sensitive wipers speed up when the vehicle does, so that the driver doesn’t have to continually adjust the speed of the wipers. The Grenadier Quartermaster’s manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors available for the Gladiator detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer automatic dimming high beams.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the Gladiator has standard extendable sun visors. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer extendable visors.

The Gladiator’s optional rear view mirror has an automatic dimming feature. This mirror can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on it, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer the luxury of an automatic dimming rear view mirror.

On extremely cold winter days, the Gladiator’s optional heated steering wheel provides comfort, allowing the driver to steer safely and comfortably before the vehicle heater warms up. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer a heated steering wheel.

The Gladiator offers an optional center folding armrest for the rear passengers. A center armrest helps make rear passengers more comfortable and it can provide a boundary between children. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer a rear seat center armrest.

The Gladiator’s optional dual zone air conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to choose two completely different temperatures so people with different temperature preferences won’t have to compromise. This makes both the driver and front passenger as comfortable as possible. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer dual zone air conditioning.

To keep a safe, consistent following distance, the Gladiator offers an optional Adaptive Speed Control, which alters the speed of the vehicle without driver intervention. This allows the driver to use cruise control more safely without constantly having to disengage it when approaching slower traffic. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer an adaptive cruise control.

Compared to the INEOS Grenadier Quartermaster, the Jeep Gladiator eliminates the need for separate garage door openers and associated risks of losing, breaking, or having dead batteries with its optional integrated Homelink® universal remote controlled from the driver’s visor.

The Gladiator was chosen as a Car and Driver’s “Top Ten” for 2020. The Grenadier Quartermaster has never been chosen by Car and Driver in their “10Best” issue.

A group of representative automotive journalists from North America selected the Gladiator as the 2020 North American Truck of the Year. The Grenadier Quartermaster has never been chosen.

The Jeep Gladiator outsold the INEOS Grenadier by over five to one during 2024.
