Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the G-Class ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

There are over 6 times as many Dodge dealers as there are Mercedes dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Durango SRT’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2025 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Dodge vehicles are better in initial quality than Mercedes vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Dodge above average in initial quality. With 30 more problems per 100 vehicles, Mercedes is rated below average.

The Durango SRT’s 6.2 supercharged V8 produces 267 more horsepower (710 vs. 443) and 232 lbs.-ft. more torque (645 vs. 413) than the G 550’s standard 3.0 turbo 6-cylinder hybrid. The Durango SRT’s 6.2 supercharged V8 produces 133 more horsepower (710 vs. 577) and 18 lbs.-ft. more torque (645 vs. 627) than the AMG G 63’s standard 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid. The Durango SRT’s 6.2 supercharged V8 produces 131 more horsepower (710 vs. 579) than the G 580’s standard electric motors.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Durango SRT has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 18-inch wheels are standard on the G-Class.

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires standard on the Durango SRT can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The G-Class doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

For excellent aerodynamics, the Durango SRT has standard flush composite headlights. The G-Class has recessed headlights that spoil its aerodynamic shape and create extra drag.

The Durango SRT uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The G-Class doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the Durango SRT has standard extendable sun visors. The G-Class doesn’t offer extendable visors.

The Durango SRT has a 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The G-Class doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.
