In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the Ram 1500 are reminded to check the back seat if they opened the rear door before starting out. The Cybertruck doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

The Ram 1500 has Daytime Running Lights to help keep it more visible under all conditions. Canadian government studies show that driving with lights during the day reduces accidents by 11% by making vehicles more conspicuous. The Cybertruck doesn’t offer Daytime Running Lights.

The Ram 1500 offers optional 9-1-1 Call, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The Cybertruck doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the Ram 1500 and the Cybertruck have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, available four-wheel drive, around view monitors and driver alert monitors.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration does side impact tests on new vehicles. In this test, which crashes the vehicle into a flat barrier at 38.5 MPH, results indicate that the Ram 1500 is safer than the Tesla Cybertruck:

Ram’s powertrain warranty covers the 1500 2 years longer than Tesla covers the Cybertruck. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles. Coverage on the Cybertruck ends after only 8 years.

There are almost 12 times as many Ram dealers as there are Tesla dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the 1500’s warranty.

A reliable vehicle saves its owner time, money and trouble. Nobody wants to be stranded or have to be without a vehicle while it’s being repaired. Consumer Reports rates the Ram 1500’s reliability 12 points higher than the Cybertruck.

In an emergency stopping situation, many drivers don’t press the brakes with enough force to stop the vehicle in the shortest distance. The Ram 1500 has a standard Brake Assist System to detect emergency braking situations (by how hard and how quickly the brake pedal is pressed) and then automatically apply maximum braking immediately in order to help prevent a collision. The Cybertruck doesn’t offer a brake assist feature.

The Ram 1500 stops shorter than the Cybertruck:

The Ram 1500’s optional tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Cybertruck’s 65 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Ram 1500 offers optional 22-inch wheels. The Cybertruck’s largest wheels are only 20-inches.

The Ram 1500 has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Cybertruck doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

The Ram 1500 has a standard full size spare so a flat doesn’t interrupt your work or a trip. A full size spare costs extra on the Cybertruck. Without the option you must depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Ram 1500 6-foot Box Crew Cab’s wheelbase is 10.4 inches longer than on the Cybertruck (153.5 inches vs. 143.1 inches).

The Ram 1500 5.5-foot Box Big Horn Crew Cab 4x4 handles at .76 G’s, while the Cyberbeast pulls only .75 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The Ram 1500 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 950 to 1300 pounds less than the Tesla Cybertruck.

The front grille of the Ram 1500 uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Cybertruck doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

The Ram 1500 has standard seating for 6 passengers; the Cybertruck can only carry 5.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the Ram 1500 Lariat/Limited/Tungsten’s rear seats recline. The Cybertruck’s rear seats don’t recline.

The Cybertruck’s spare tire is stored in the cargo area, where it diminishes the useable cargo capacity and interferes with loading and unloading. The Ram 1500’s spare is out of the way underneath.

The Ram 1500’s cargo box is larger than the Cybertruck’s in almost every dimension:

The Ram 1500 has a standard tailgate assist feature, which prevents the heavy tailgate from falling with a crash and causing injury. It allows adults and children to easily open and close the tailgate with one hand to better facilitate loading and unloading. The Tesla Cybertruck doesn’t offer a tailgate assist.

The Ram 1500 offers an optional Fold-Out Bumper Step, which folds out and allows for much easier access to the cargo area. The Tesla Cybertruck doesn’t offer a rear cargo step.

The Ram 1500 has bed indentations that accommodate 2x4’s for two-tiered loading to help accommodate diverse loads; the Cybertruck doesn’t offer two-tiered loading. The Ram 1500 also has indentations to separate the cargo box into three different sections length-wise.

To make loading and unloading groceries and cargo easier, especially for short adults, the Ram 1500 offers an optional power cargo door, which opens and closes automatically by pressing a button. The Cybertruck doesn’t offer a power cargo door.

The Ram 1500 (except Tradesman/Express/Warlock/Big Horn/Lone Star) offers an available heads-up display that projects speed, tachometer, navigation instruction and driver assistance information readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Cybertruck doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The Ram 1500’s standard side window demisters help clear frost or condensation from the side windows in the winter. The Cybertruck doesn’t even offer side window demisters, so the driver may have to wipe the windows from the outside to gain side vision.

Optional air conditioned front and rear seats keep the Ram 1500’s passengers comfortable and take the sting out of hot leather in summer. The Cybertruck doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats in the rear.

The Ram 1500 Limited/Tungsten has standard massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the Cybertruck.

The Ram 1500 is equipped with both FM and AM stereo radios, offering access to more content and better coverage than the Cybertruck, which solely provides FM radio. With AM radio, you can enjoy a wider variety of stations featuring news, talk shows, sports commentary, native language programing, automated traffic guidance, and emergency broadcasts. AM waves travel further and penetrate buildings and obstacles more effectively than FM signals, especially at night. Having both FM and AM stereo radios the Ram 1500 offers a more comprehensive listening experience compared to only FM in the Cybertruck.

HD Radio boasts several benefits over conventional radio: superior sound quality with clearer and consistent FM broadcasts, CD-quality audio, and Multicast Channels offering up to four streams from a single station, adding programming choices. Cars like the Ram 1500 optionally equipped with HD Radio provide an improved in-car entertainment experience. The Cybertruck, devoid of this technology, foregoes these benefits. Selecting the Ram 1500 empowers drivers to enjoy a more immersive and enjoyable listening experience while on the go.

The Ram 1500’s optional Autonomous Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling the transmission and speed with the brake pedal. With its available fully controlled system, the driver just activates it and it parks autonomously, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. The Cybertruck doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
