In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the Wagoneer S are reminded to check the back seat if they opened the rear door before starting out. The Q8 e-tron doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The Wagoneer S has standard ParkSense Rear Park Assist with Stop that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Q8 e-tron doesn’t offer automatic braking for stationary objects directly to the rear.

The Wagoneer S’ driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Q8 e-tron doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the Wagoneer S and the Q8 e-tron have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available four-wheel drive.

Jeep’s powertrain warranty covers the Wagoneer S 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Audi covers the Q8 e-tron. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the Q8 e-tron ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

Jeep pays for scheduled maintenance on the Wagoneer S for 2 years and unlimited miles. Jeep will pay for tire rotations, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance (up to 2 visits). Audi only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the Q8 e-tron.

There are almost 8 times as many Jeep dealers as there are Audi dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Wagoneer S’ warranty.

The Wagoneer S Limited 4dr Sport Utility’s electric motors produces 4 more horsepower (500 vs. 496) than the SQ8 e-tron’s standard electric motors. The Wagoneer S’ optional electric motors produces 104 more horsepower (600 vs. 496) than the SQ8 e-tron’s standard electric motors.

The Wagoneer S has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Q8 e-tron doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

The design of the Jeep Wagoneer S amounts to more than styling. The Wagoneer S has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .29 Cd. That is lower than the Q8 e-tron (.29 to .32) and many sports cars. A more efficient exterior helps keep the interior quieter and helps the Wagoneer S get better fuel mileage.

The Wagoneer S has .5 inches more front legroom and .3 inches more rear shoulder room than the Q8 e-tron.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the Wagoneer S’ rear seats recline. The Q8 e-tron’s rear seats don’t recline.

The Wagoneer S 4dr Sport Utility has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Q8 e-tron with its rear seat up (30.6 vs. 28.5 cubic feet). The Wagoneer S’ power window, power lock, power mirror and cruise control switches are lit from behind, making them plainly visible and easier to operate at night. The Q8 e-tron’s cruise control switches are unlit, making them difficult to find at night and operate safely.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Wagoneer S to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Q8 e-tron doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Wagoneer S has a standard rear fixed intermittent wiper with a full on position. The rear wiper standard on the Q8 e-tron only has an intermittent setting, so in a hard rain visibility isn’t as good.

To help drivers avoid possible obstacles, the Wagoneer S has standard cornering lights to illuminate around corners when the turn signals are activated. The Q8 e-tron doesn’t offer cornering lights.

Optional air conditioned front and rear seats keep the Wagoneer S’ passengers comfortable and take the sting out of hot leather in summer. The Q8 e-tron doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats in the rear.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Jeep Wagoneer S has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. Wireless charging costs extra on the Q8 e-tron.

The Wagoneer S offers an optional 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The Q8 e-tron doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.
