A passive infrared night vision system optional on the Grand Cherokee Overland/Summit helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard. The Optiq doesn’t offer a night vision system.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee (except Laredo)’s optional360-degree camera can be optionally equipped with washers for its front and rear cameras, ensuring crystal-clear visibility in any weather condition. Conversely, the Cadillac Optiq only offers a rear camera washer, which may not provide the same level of all-weather performance.

Both the Grand Cherokee and the Optiq have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, available all wheel drive, around view monitors and driver alert monitors.

Jeep pays for scheduled maintenance on the Grand Cherokee for 2 years and unlimited miles. Jeep will pay for oil changes, tire rotations, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance (up to 2 visits). Cadillac only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the Optiq.

There are over 4 times as many Jeep dealers as there are Cadillac dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Grand Cherokee’s warranty.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ March 2025 Auto Issue reports that Jeep vehicles are more reliable than Cadillac vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Jeep 2 places higher in reliability than Cadillac.

The Grand Cherokee 4xe’s standard 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder hybrid produces 75 more horsepower (375 vs. 300) and 116 lbs.-ft. more torque (470 vs. 354) than the Optiq’s electric motors.

The Grand Cherokee 4xe’s maximum EPA estimated range on a full tank and a full charge is 482 miles, after which it can be refueled at any gas station in minutes. The Optiq’s range is only 302 miles, after which the minimum time to recharge is 10 minutes for only a 36% charge at a specially configured quick charge station not available in most areas. A full recharge at a professionally installed 220-volt charging station can take up to 5 hours and 27 minutes.

For better stopping power the Grand Cherokee’s brake rotors are larger than those on the Optiq:

The Grand Cherokee has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Optiq doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

The Grand Cherokee offers an optional full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare isn’t available on the Optiq; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

The Grand Cherokee Trailhawk has active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The Optiq doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The Grand Cherokee offers an available driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads or off-road. The Optiq’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

The Grand Cherokee offers an optional automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The Grand Cherokee’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The Optiq doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Grand Cherokee is 1.4 inches wider in the front and 65.4 inches wider in the rear than on the Optiq.

For better maneuverability, the Grand Cherokee’s turning circle is 1.8 feet tighter than the Optiq’s (38 feet vs. 39.8 feet).

For greater off-road capability the Grand Cherokee has a 2.4 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Optiq (8.4 vs. 6 inches), allowing the Grand Cherokee to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged. The Grand Cherokee Trailhawk Air Suspension’s minimum ground clearance is 4.9 inches higher than on the Optiq (10.9 vs. 6 inches).

The Jeep Grand Cherokee may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs up to about 950 pounds less than the Cadillac Optiq.

The Grand Cherokee offers available computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The Optiq doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

The Grand Cherokee has 6 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Optiq (107 vs. 101).

The Grand Cherokee has .3 inches more front headroom, 2.4 inches more front hip room, 2.2 inches more front shoulder room, .7 inches more rear headroom, .4 inches more rear legroom, 5.3 inches more rear hip room and 2 inches more rear shoulder room than the Optiq.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the Grand Cherokee’s rear seats recline. The Optiq’s rear seats don’t recline.

The Grand Cherokee has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Optiq with its rear seat up (37.7 vs. 26 cubic feet). The Grand Cherokee has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Optiq with its rear seat folded (70.8 vs. 57 cubic feet).

A standard locking glovebox (which can’t be accessed with the valet key) keeps your small valuables safer in the Grand Cherokee. The Optiq doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

The Grand Cherokee’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the Optiq’s (3500 vs. 1500 pounds). Maximum trailer towing in the Cadillac Optiq is only 1500 pounds. The Grand Cherokee offers up to a 6200 lbs. towing capacity.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Grand Cherokee has a standard rear wiper. The Optiq doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

Optional air conditioned front and rear seats keep the Grand Cherokee’s passengers comfortable and take the sting out of hot leather in summer. The Optiq doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats in the rear.

The Grand Cherokee is available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The Optiq doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
